Being a guest at a party can be a little intimidating when you don’t know everyone. And the truth is that seems to be almost always the case. It’s a cool thought—mixing friends from different seasons of life, as well as family members—but if you’re not the one hosting, chatting it up with strangers can be overwhelming.
That’s why I’m a huge fan of name tags. Seems a little cheesy maybe, but when you’re a bridesmaid trying to ask Aunt Lucy if she’d like a glass of champagne, it’s nice to know her name.
I’m also terrible at remembering names, so even after someone has introduced themselves to me, it’s nice to know I can glance at a name tag when I strike up a conversation again.
If only we could find a way to make putting name tags on foreheads socially acceptable, I would seriously rock small talk at parties 😝.
So yeah, in finding that name tags can be game changers, I went on a mission to create party name tags that were modern, versatile and easy to make. And here is the result!
It only takes three items to make and a couple minutes to put together.
01. Remove the adhesive backing from the magnet and stick onto the back of wood piece. Gently press to seal.
02. On the front side of the wood piece, place stickers to spell out guest names.
03. Repeat for all guests!
It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the light letters aren’t as difficult to read as they seem.
Also, if you don’t want to use letters stickers, or would like guests to make name tags themselves, you could leave out pens next to blank name tags ☺.
I love the use of magnets because they don’t poke holes in clothes and are so easy to remove and reapply. Sometimes I find that sticker name tags get stuck in my long hair and fall off mid party 🙃.
So I have to know, are you a fan of name tags at parties??
