So I just had my birthday this past week (woot! woot!), and I don’t know about you, but each year I seem less attached to needing to do something big to celebrate. However, I DO seem to be getting more excited to celebrate my girlfriends’ birthdays each year (and my hubby’s, of course). I find it gives a cool opportunity to reflect on our different friendships, to step back and think about where we’ve been and how much they mean to me now.
It also seems that the more time passes, the more my good friends seem to move to different cities. I love that even a simple card in the mail can be a way to show them some love and give me a space to share my heart.
I hope this card gives you that opportunity as well!
If you are curious about my design process on this, I hand painted banana leaves in watercolor; I then scanned the painted image and created a digital pattern (and the rest of the card design) in Photoshop.
